choo choo Scotty

Scotty changed his mind about trains, or did somebody change his mind.

It's OK between Kenosha and Milwaukee but not beyond.

After turning down high speed rail across the state, Scott walker has gone back to ask for money to run high speed from Milwaukee toward Chicago.

It well could be he doesn't want a passenger line to Madison because we would be tempted to run him out of town on the next train.

Oh well I guess we'll have to use the coal train.

Can you respect laws enacted by scofflaws?

Wisconsin congress passes a law using methods contrary to its own law.

A court stops the publishing and enacting of the law.

Sneaky son's of dogs publish law in spite of ruling. State they will enforce this law.

They have not followed the laws already on the books.
Is this anarchy, fascism or just an asshole move?

Wisconsin ruled by boneheads since 2011.

The Preamble to the Constitution.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

How beautiful and elegant.

One thing overlooked lately seems to be "promote the general welfare"

Hopefuly we will remember this.

Look around to see that we are doing this for all of our neighbors.

Spring/ super-moon/ sports

It is Spring! We've survived the Super - Moon.

Watching NCAA's. Great job by Badgers last night.

I can't help but pull for the Big Ten teams that I rooted against all year.

I wonder if after all the budget cuts school sports will be the same. Extra curricular activities are not considered the main purpose of public education but do add value.

Student athletes learn about following rules, taking direction, working together, balancing their sports time with their academic time.

Parents get to meet other parents and form a valuable community connection.

Teachers meet parents and see students in a different light.

All of this does require community commitment.

With the State of Wisconsin and the Federal Government returning less money to communities will we be able to continue to support these activities?

I love Wisconsin

It is so sad to see the continued assault on Wisconsin by the Libertarian/Republican axis of evil.
We did not realize the evil of the Teabags, we just thought they where nuts that didn't like to pay their taxes.
We didn't realize the Americans for Prosperity actually are a front for Fascists.
We didn't think the religious right was a front for wrong.
We now know the Republicans will do anything for anyone that will get them elected.
Our mistake.

Dave's Bacon

The Davis Bacon act is under attack. They claim it forces government to spend too much money on public works project. But they may be wrong.

Davis-Bacon does encourage the hiring of skilled local workers and trains young people to become skilled tradesmen and tradeswomen.

The Davis–Bacon Act includes provisions in contracts for paying workers on-site no less than the locally prevailing wages and benefits paid on similar projects.

There you have it "evil ".

Your Government must pay a reasonable wage!

Paying sub standard wages conflicts with the concept of government as defined in the preamble to the constitution.
